Consumers want à la carte TV, but big online bundles likely

According to a new survey of US adults, 77% would prefer to assemble their own bundles of TV channels. Sky and CBS Interactive believe they’ll get it in the short term, but that re-aggregation into big cable-like bundles is inevitable.

Reuters/Ipsos surveyed 1,680 Americans at the beginning of May on their interest in à la carte TV channel access and found overwhelming support for the idea. This is good news for the likes of HBO Now, CBS All Access and Noggin, all of which have launched direct-to-consumer OTT services in the last several months.
